Travel with Kids on a Budget

by Melissa Atienza-Petri on June 4th, 2005

Traveling with your kids make it a but difficult to stick to your budget. Here are a few tips to make sure that your little family getaway won’t break your bank.

Go online!
Travel agencies have gone online. Add to that the presence of several online agents like opodo and expedia offering hundreds of packages. The number of special deals and the variety of offers available would surely give you enough choices to fit you and your children, whatever age they may be. Just think of the keywords (suggestions: family + travel + [insert country]) and start your research using google or alltheweb.

Choose off-peak flying times
Most airlines often offer better priced tickets if you leave/arrive mid-week.

Special deals
Many newspapers and travel magazines regularly offer special deals on flights.

Use your familial connection
Visit friends/family who are based elsewhere on your vacation. It could save you lots of money on accommodation cost.
