Spend Christmas in Spain
Christmas is a Catholic holiday. Where better to spend Christmas and experience how it should be done than in Spain where they have strong Catholic traditions.
Apart from the traditional nativity scenes which can be found all over the country, you’d also enjoy Spain’s gastronomic wealth. Plus, Spain is generally cheaper than most of Western Europe.
Here are a few budget tips which you may want to take note of:
- Fly Budget. For the list of budget airlines which flies to Spain, check here.
- Need energy to boost you during the day? Fill yourself up at restaurants with lunches that have fixed prices.
- Go to local markets and self-cater
- If you are a student, take advantage of transport discounts available all over Spain
- Want to go clubbing? Head for the club early. I know, it’s sooo uncool but, hey, it would get you discounts.
- In Barcelona, cheap eats = chinese and middle eastern restaurants, scattered around the center
- You’ll get better currency exchange rates in banks than in exchange offices
- Madrid & Barcelona are pricier than other cities. If your budget is limited, head for smaller but still charming cities.
Feliz Navidad!
