Shop Til You Drop in Germany and France

by Melissa Atienza-Petri on January 11th, 2007

It’s that time of the year again when Germany and France are clearing out their old (2006) stocks. Everything is on SALE!!!

shopping-bag.gifIn Germany, it’s called the Winter-Schluss-Verkauf or the End of Winter Sale. After Christmas, shops opened with big red SALE signs. But on the 22nd of January, the real WSV sale will start. That means, even further discounts! Many stores have also opted to “excuse” you from the 3% VAT increase which took effect last January 1, 2007.

In Paris, they have already started their Winter Sale a couple of days ago. So, hurry up. It will run until the 7th of February.

Prices could drop to as low as 70%. I bought sandals (since I am headed for Asia in 3 weeks) for 10.50Euros. The original price was 45Euros!!!

If I were you, I’d go join fellow bargain hunters now! Even airlines are holding winter sales so you have every excuse to take advantage and shop til you drop! (sorry, I just can’t stop using exclamation points)
