RatesToGo and Priceline
Budget Traveling is not limited to backpacking and cheap hostels. It could also mean getting great value for your money or getting a very good deal for an expensive hotel room.
As an example… if I have to pick up the tab and I have my family with me, I prefer not to rough it. Instead, I choose 4-starred hotels. BUT, I always make sure that I get a great deal and pay for only a fraction of its price.
Now how do I do that? Most of you already know the most obvious answer… Priceline. You can even outsmart priceline and get an extraordinarily really good deal.
There are times, though, that my hotel location requirements are specific. Like when I go to Paris, I prefer to stay at the 8th (near Champs Elysee) or 7th districts. And when I go to Rome, I prefer to stay near Via Condotti and nowhere near the main train station (only if my finances permit, of course). And the site which has served me well since 2003 for my picky days is RatesToGo. It’s a last minute hotel reservation site where I really got great value for my money.
Of course, RatesToGo may not always have the cheapest rates but if you do plan on booking a last minute hotel, you might want to consider adding RatesToGo in your research.
