by Melissa Atienza-Petri on July 1st, 2005

If you are a student and plan on backpacking in and around Europe, it would be best if you get an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) from the International Student Travel Confederation.

There are over 32,000 discounts worldwide, to save you money on:
- Flights
- Public Transport
- Ferries
- Museums and Cultural Places of Interest
- Accommodation
- Restaurants
- Entertainment and Shopping!

Not a Student?
If you are not a full-time student, but aged under 26 or you are a full-time teacher or professor, the International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) or International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC) could be for you. The IYTC and ITIC offer similar benefits, services and savings to the ISIC card.
