Driving in Europe
So you managed to borrow a car for free (or find a cheap car-rental) to get you from one European destination to another. Good work!
In addition, you have taken great care in planning your itinerary. You manage to choose to go to places where you can take advantage of the price of fuel. Congratulations!
There is another thing you should consider, though. Even if you manage to get cheap (or free) car and gas, you may end up going over your budget if you are stupid and have forgotten to take note of what is NOT allowed in European roads.
Note that just like in a lot of US states, most European countries ban the use of hand-held mobile phones while driving. Keep that in mind. Otherwise, you might end up paying a hefty fine. Check this list for the amount, on a per country basis.

Just out of curiosity, I know you can’t make a right turn on a red in Germany. Is this true in other EU countries as well?
