Discover Slovenia on a Budget

Quaint and beautiful Slovenia is perfect for budget travelers. It’s safe, interesting and inexpensive (cost is rising, though, but is still relatively cheap, in comparison to its western neighbors).

HOW TO GET THERE: Ljubljana, the capital, is the gateway to Slovenia if you want to fly. Budget airlines that fly to Slovenia are WizzAir and easyJet although, they only fly from London and Brussels. You can also fly to Vienna or Zagreb and just take the train to Slovenia.

For those flying in from the US, Czech Airlines, Lufthansa, and Austrian Airlines have reasonable rates for Ljubljana.

If you are planning to go around Europe with your Eurail pass, note that travel to Slovenia with it is not possible. Instead, you would need to buy an Interrail pass.
