Cheap eats in Paris

by Melissa Atienza-Petri on July 13th, 2005

You do not have to resort to eating at McDonalds just so you can stay within your tight budget while touring Paris. Good value meals are available all over Paris. Here are a couple of suggestions:

Wadja is a bistro with an imaginative menu and good wine. The place is frequented by artists from the Montparnasse area. It’s at the 6th arrondissiment; 10, rue de Grande Chaumiere; Metro stop Vavin.

Chartier offers authentic French cuisine. A 3-course meal with wine costs approximately 15Euro. It’s at 7, rue du Fauborg in Montmarte.

There are quite a lot of little bistros all over Paris which offers authentic French cuisine for a reasonable price. Menus are often, anyway, posted outside the restaurants so you can check them out while you tour around the city. Quite easy to find good value meals, as long as you avoid the area around Champs-Elysees.
