Cheap Eats in Athens, Greece

by Melissa Atienza-Petri on October 19th, 2006

KebapTired and hungry after seeing the Acropolis and Ancient Agora? You may want to check out these budget dining options:

  • Bayraktaris and Savvas for Greek souvlaki/kebab in Monastiraki (near Monastiraki Metro Station)
  • Kanella restaurant in Kostandinupoleos and Evmolpidon, Gazi (near centre of Athens)
  • cheap and nice Greek food and plenty of small tavernas in Psirry area.
  • If you want to self-cater, look for any of the chain of AB Vasilopoulos supermarkets where they also sell high quality food
  • try out street food like a souvlaki for 1.50€
  • get a sandwich at Grigoris or Everest
