Top 5 Reasons Why Amsterdam is a Budget Traveler’s Haven

Top 5 Reasons Why Amsterdam is a Budget Traveler’s Haven

You can get to most tourist destinations by foot. The city is flat and relatively small. Walking from one tourist site to another would be good for your health and your wallet. Plus, you’ll really see everything in detail.
There’s a wide range of budget hostels which would fit any Budget Traveler’s budget. As far as I can remember, the Flying Pig is the most famous of these budget hostels. For the cheapest option, look for a dorm room (obviously, you need to share your room with other travelers) in a youth hostel.

Alain Senderens’ Baby Bistro

Alain Senderens’ Baby Bistro

Do you have luxurious tastes or habits, esp. in eating and drinking. However, if you had money to burn, you probably would not be reading Europestring, would you? So rather than give you a guide which your challenged-pocket will not be able to use anyway, I will just point you to some of the best alternative to fine dining options in Paris.

French Riviera Dreaming

French Riviera Dreaming

The French Riviera is one of those places where you can make your champagne wishes and caviar dreams come true.
Not exactly the kind of description which shouts budget traveling, isn’t it?
Well, you need not scratch it off your list just yet. There are still some places in this fashionable resort which you, dear one with limited finances, can afford to stay and enjoy.

Rather than look for a place in Monte Carlo, Cannes or Saint Tropez, consider staying in nearby Nice. It’s not cheap but it’s cheapER AND is also a great destination in itself.

Where to Eat in Barcelona

Where to Eat in Barcelona

La Rambla is the kilometer long iconic street in the center of Barcelona. It’s usually full of tourists walking down the street, watching the street performers, stopping in cafes or checking out market stalls. Cafes and restaurants located on La Rambla are, obviously, not really budget-friendly. Most of them are tourist traps.
So when your stomach starts rumbling and your pockets aren’t deep enough for those establishments, you can:

head out to the Born market in the La Ribera district. It’s near Museu Picasso.
look for family-run restaurants off La Rambla.
head for Mercat dela Boqueria which you can find …read more

Going to a local bar could be an interesting part of your travel experience.  However, prices (especially in Sweden!) are not exactly a budget traveler’s dream.
