Bulgaria tops emerging destination in 2007 list

Now, isn’t that incentive enough for you to consider Bulgaria as your next travel destination?

And to complement the above raves, here are some budget options: 

For cheap flights to Bulgaria, Burgas, Sofia and Varna should be your chosen starting point.

For budget accommodations, everything is relatively cheaper than the rates in western Europe but if you would still want to save some more, consider Homestays.  This will not only allow you to completely immerse in the local flavour and color but the difference in price (if you stay in a hotel or hostel) will save you 40-60%.

While going around, it would be best to take the bus.  Just like in most countries, taxi drivers tend to ask for much more.

In general, food and drinks are relatively cheap. But if you need an even cheaper option, you will be able to find tons of street vendors selling local food and pizza.  Do try byurek, while you are there.
