When Budget Travelers Whine
“I couldn’t sleep! The bar next door played really loud music until the wee hours of the morning!”
“The toilet was co-ed!”
“None of them could even speak English!”
“The service was atrocious”
“They only gave us bread and coffee for breakfast!”
They do not even stop at that. Some even go on a full-scale vitriolic rant about a certain hostel, budget airline and/or, even, a country.
Well, boo f**king hoo! When traveling on a budget, you need to be realistic. If you are going to pay peanuts, you can’t expect more than what a bag of peanuts is worth. More often than not, you will get what you pay for!!
ON THE OTHER HAND, note that getting great accommodations for peanuts IS possible. One can even get lucky and successfully book that hard to come by €0 plane ticket. A full meal for only 2.50€ is even realizable.
All those aren’t just urban myths. They are real.
But, dear budget travelers, you need to keep in mind that you can’t just waltz into any hostel or book just any ticket and expect to get lucky. You need to do one simple thing before you even start booking. You need to DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!
Browse the world wide web. Ask your friends and relatives. Read newspapers and magazines.
There are tons of great deals out there just waiting for you. There is absolutely no need to add another budget traveler rant, especially if that crappy deal you got is all YOUR fault.
