We can’t really expect much when it comes to budget sleeping accommodations. Searches are normally done based on price and location.
As for the state of the hostel… well, it’s like playing Russian roulette. Some backpackers are surprised with how squalid some of those hostels could be. And then there are those lucky ones who have blindly chosen the good hostels.
Yes, you’d probably be spending most of your time outdoors, discovering what the country has to offer. You would only be sleeping in your hostel so it doesn’t really matter, right? Wrong!
