That’s the FIFA World Cup Stadium in Munich. Isn’t it a beauty?

Anyway, just like in all the other host cities, Munich has prepared a public viewing area for those who didn’t get hold of a ticket to watch the game live at the FIFA Stadium. The best public viewing area (and the only official one) is at the lakeside amphitheater at the Olympic Park. 20,000 fans can be accommodated to watch from the 60 sq.m. screen on pontoons in the middle of the lake.

As how it is in other venues, there will also be no shortage of food and drinks at the Olympic Park. However, again (!) if you want to save, head on to the Budget Supermarkets to stock up on your picnic supply. Check out Aldi and Lidl for the addresses of the nearest branch near you.

Munich may be full of tourists (hence, pricier) but the city also boasts of the country’s largest student population so, chances are, you will also be able to find affordable food within the immediate vicinity of the University districts for those times when you are roaming around the city.
